Katia attended Old Dominion University for her Masters in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner Degree and George Washington University for her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate. She has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2014. She is a Doctor of Nursing Practice. She provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management for all patient populations.
Ama is a board-certified Nurse practitioner who specializes in Family and Psychiatry. She earned both degrees at The George Washington University. She believes that empathy and building a trusting relationship with patients and their families are vital to any recovery process.
Ama specializes in working with psychiatric patients across the lifespan (children – elderly) struggling to cope with co-occurring disorders such as Anxiety, Depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Substance Use, Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Psychosis, and Bipolar. Ama is licensed through America Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) to treat Opioid Dependence with Buprenorphine and Methadone.
Dr. Ameanthea Blanco-Knezovich, DNP, FNP-C, CNE, completed her Doctorate at Old Dominion University in 2010. She had been in Family Practice and Urgent Care for 13 years, an educator for three years, and has been caring in the psych field since 2003 starting in the inpatient child and adolescent unit. She has been a medical director and senior clinician for multiple clinics and developed protocols for daily clinic operations. She is the Founder and Executive Director for Promethean Group a primary medical care clinic that services the homeless and peoples in need in Southeastern Virginia. Currently she practices in family practice and in psych med Management for mental health for children and adults.
Tiffany Johnson is a nationally certified physician assistant who provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management to pediatrics, adolescents and adults. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-medicine with a minor in Chemistry from Elizabeth City State University. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University in 2005. She has experience working with all populations and has worked in multiple specialties including emergency medicine, traditional urgent care, pediatric urgent care, pediatric outpatient medicine, urology, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Dr. Scott Wiener serves as our collaborating psychiatrist/physician. HE IS NOT ON-SITE.
Dr. Wiener completed his medical training at the NYU and Zucker Schools of Medicine before running his own private practice in the suburbs of New York City. In 2016 he was appointed Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Touro College of Medicine and in 2018 appointed Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Wiener serves as an adviser and on the board of directors of Autism Friendly Spaces and has been an instructor for Psych U. Currently Dr. Wiener continues to focus his efforts in the area of functional medicine in mental health working with individuals and families in both Washington and Virginia.
Nicole obtained her Master of Social Work from Saint Leo University in 2019. She is currently a Supervisee in Social Work. Her passion is to assist clients in addressing challenges, and changes, obstacles by helping them to learn appropriate coping skills. She looks forward to joining clients on their journey to mental health and wellness.
